Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in TrabzonFlight to Trabzon via Istanbul. Airport pickup and transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Trabzon.

Day 2: Historical Journey Through Trabzon and RizeAfter breakfast, we explore Trapezunt (Trabzon), the ancient capital of the Pontus Kingdom on the Black Sea coast. We'll visit the Hagia Sophia with its well-preserved frescoes, historic city walls, Atatürk's Jugendstil villa, and Gülbahar Hatun Mosque. In the afternoon, we'll hike about 1 hour to the Sumela Monastery at 1400 meters in the Pontus Mountains, featuring chapel ruins adorned with frescoes. Dinner and overnight stay in Rize.

Day 3: Discovering Uzungöl, Ayder, and Camli HemşinAfter breakfast, we head to the naturally beautiful Uzungöl. We enjoy lunch while sipping delicious tea at a tea garden near Rize. Then, we arrive at Ayder plateau, known as a peaceful corner of paradise, where we take a short walk. Later, we encounter the last remains of the historic Zil Castle in Camli Hemşin. Dinner and overnight stay in Hopa.

Day 4: Ordu and Samsun TourIn the morning, we go to Ordu, a hazelnut export port. Here, we visit the Aziziye Mosque and Armenian Church before continuing to Samsun, known as ancient Amisos. Dinner and overnight stay in Samsun.

Day 5: Exploring Amesia and ÇorumAfter breakfast, we head to Amesia, the ancient capital of the Pontus Kingdom. In Amesia, we visit the royal rock tombs featuring structures like the Beyazıt Pasha Mosque. Then we proceed to Çorum. Dinner and overnight stay in Çorum.

Day 6: Hattuşa and Journey to CappadociaIn the morning, we go to Bogazkale to examine in detail the ancient Hittite capital Hattuşa and the nearby rock temple Yazılıkaya. Afterwards, our tour continues to Cappadocia. Dinner and overnight stay in Cappadocia.

Day 7: Göreme, Pigeon Valley, and Underground CityWe head to Göreme, the heart of Cappadocia. Here, we examine in detail the Byzantine period churches and carefully frescoed cave churches. Then, we take a pleasant walk in the famous Pigeon Valley. As the last stop of our tour, we explore one of Cappadocia's famous underground cities. Dinner and overnight stay in Cappadocia.

Day 8: Uçhisar, Monks Valley, Zelve, and Carpet Weaving CultureWe head to Uçhisar to visit the unique fairy chimneys in Monks Valley (Mönchstal). Then, we go to the abandoned village of Zelve. Afterwards, we have the opportunity to examine the centuries-old carpet weaving culture on site. Dinner and overnight stay in Cappadocia.

Day 9: Historical and Cultural Riches of AnkaraAfter breakfast, we head to Ankara. We climb to the castle, the symbol of the city, and take an in-depth cultural tour at the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. Then, near the Julian Column (Juliansäule), we visit the Temple of Augustus with walls inscribed with Augustus's achievements. As the last stop of our tour, we visit Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's mausoleum. Dinner and overnight stay in Ankara.

Day 10: DepartureTransfer to airport after breakfast.
