An 8-day magnificent journey into the fascinating world of Ancient Egypt. From the Pyramids of Giza to the Temples of Luxor, from the Nile River to Aswan, this route will allow you to discover Egypt's rich history and cultural heritage.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: ArrivalUpon arrival at the airport, you will be met by our guide who will assist you with entry procedures. Then you will go to your hotel with a city tour. At the hotel, your guide will inform you about the tour program and the subsequent Nile River cruise.
Day 2: Pyramids of Giza and SaqqaraYou will be picked up from the hotel early in the morning for your full-day tour. You will visit Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt. At the Saqqara necropolis south of Cairo, you will see King Djoser's step pyramid. This pyramid is the first and oldest pyramid built in Egypt. In the afternoon, you will focus on the Pyramids of Giza, the only wonder of the ancient world that remains today. These massive pyramids, guarded by the Sphinx for thousands of years, belong to Kings Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. When you return to your hotel, you can rest from a wonderful day.
Day 3: Egyptian Museum and CitadelIn the morning, you will visit the Egyptian National Museum and see the precious treasures of ancient Egypt and royal mummies. The tomb artifacts of Boy King Tutankhamun are truly fascinating. In the afternoon, you will visit the 12th-century Saladin Citadel and the Alabaster Mosque, also known as the Mohamed Ali Mosque. Then, you will be enchanted by the famous Khan El-Khalili Bazaar, inviting you to shop with its colorful products and oriental atmosphere.
Day 4: Karnak and Luxor TemplesIn the morning, you will reach Luxor city quickly and comfortably by plane from Cairo airport. Embarkation procedures at Luxor port will be completed by noon. After lunch, around 2:00 PM, you will visit the Karnak and Luxor Temples. These temples have been protected by UNESCO since 1976. Dinner and overnight will be on board in Luxor.
Day 5: West ThebesAfter breakfast, you will transfer to the West Bank where historic Thebes is located. You will tour the Valley of the Kings where the royal tombs are located. Then, you will visit the impressive Medinet Habu temple complex and the workers' city of Deir el-Medina. On the way back, you will see the Colossi of Memnon. You will return to the ship for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, your ship will pass through the great lock at Esna and spend the night here. Dinner will be served on board and you will enjoy a pleasant evening on deck.
Day 6: Edfu and Kom OmboThe ship will depart for Edfu while you have breakfast. Lunch will be served on board. In the afternoon, you will visit the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the falcon god Horus and the best-preserved temple of ancient history. During lunch, the ship will reach Kom Ombo. Here, you will see the famous double temple, one dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the other to the falcon god Haroeris. Throughout the night, the ship will proceed to Aswan and anchor there.
Day 7: Aswan ProgramIn Aswan, you will visit the dam at Lake Nasser and the granite quarry where the unfinished obelisk is located. You will complete the day with a romantic cruise on the Nile in a felucca, a traditional Egyptian sailboat. You will spend the evening relaxing in the comfort of the ship.
Day 8: DisembarkationUnfortunately, it's time to pack your bags. After leaving the ship, you will transfer to Aswan airport for your return flight or transfer to a beach holiday (if reserved).
