Discover the most important council sites in Christian history in Istanbul and Nicaea. On this journey from Hagia Sophia to Nicaea, you will witness 1700 years of history.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - May 17: ArrivalIndividual flight to Istanbul and welcome. Transfer to hotel. Dinner together.
Day 2 - May 18: ConstantinopleBreakfast at hotel. Visit to Church of Irene (2nd Ecumenical Council) and Hagia Sophia (5th Ecumenical Council). After this structure, once the largest Christian temple, we'll visit the water cistern under the Imperial Palace (6th Ecumenical Council): a cathedral of light and water. Hippodrome, Obelisk, German Fountain. Chora Church with early Christian mosaics, ship pulpit synagogue and dinner.
Day 3 - May 19: ChalcedonBreakfast at hotel. Orient Express Station, then boat tour under both Bosphorus bridges to Kadıköy (Chalcedon - 4th Ecumenical Council). Visit to Armenian Church and car ferry transfer to Nicaea. Dinner.
Day 4 - May 20: NicaeaBreakfast at hotel. Tour of Nicaea, where the 1st Ecumenical Council took place exactly 1,700 years ago. Green Mosque (7th Ecumenical Council). Return to Istanbul, dinner and Galata Bridge.
Day 5 - May 21: DepartureBreakfast at hotel, individual transfer to airport and return flight of your arrangement.
