Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kayseri and TransferUpon arrival in Kayseri, transfer to the hotel. Dinner is served at the hotel and overnight in Kayseri.

Day 2: Boğazkale and SapinuvaEarly morning departure to Boğazkale. Here, we take a detailed tour of Hattusa, the ancient capital of the Hittites; examining the city walls, gates, temple and palace complexes, and the nearby rock sanctuary Yazılıkaya. Later, we proceed to Sapinuva in Ortaköy district, which stretches along the Cekerek River with beautiful natural scenery. Founded approximately 3500 years ago, Sapinuva was the second most important city of the Hittite Empire after Hattusa, serving as a military and religious center.

Day 3: Amasya – "The Baghdad of Rum"After breakfast, we head to Amasya. The rich Seljuk city of Amasya was formerly known as the "Baghdad of Rum." Built on steep mountain slopes and known as "Ameseia" in ancient times, this city still reflects the splendor of the past with its castle, royal tombs, bridges, and aqueducts. You'll be amazed by the royal tombs carved from high rocks, dated to the Pontus Kingdom period by the famous historian Strabo; these large tombs were used as churches and chapels during the Byzantine period. We also visit the Prince's Museum in Amasya, known as the "City of Princes" with its old Ottoman city structure.

Day 4: From Zile to CappadociaWe continue our journey via Zile (ancient Zela). This place gained fame through the battle between Julius Caesar and King Pharnaces of Pontus in 47 BC; Caesar achieved victory in just four hours and reported the results to Rome with the words "Veni, vidi, vici" (I came, I saw, I conquered). Then, we proceed to Cappadocia.

Day 5: Cappadocia's Tuff Landscapes – Uçhisar and GöremeWe explore Cappadocia's magnificent tuff (volcanic tuff) landscape by bus and on foot; unique and various erosion forms in the valleys are revealed. Later, we head to and climb Uçhisar, entering Taşkuyu Valley for our first walk. Then we move to Göreme to examine in detail the Byzantine-era monasteries and cave churches decorated with frescoes.

Day 6: Pasabag (Monks Valley), Zelve and Dervent – Whirling Dervishes ShowThis morning, we visit Pasabag (also known as Monks Valley) to examine the most impressive fairy chimneys. Later, we visit the abandoned village of Zelve, which historically housed about 35,000 people, and explore the cave houses. Then, we move to Dervent for a short walk.

After dinner, we experience the world-renowned Mevlana philosophy more intensely by attending the "Whirling Dervishes" show in a mystical atmosphere.

Day 7: Ihlara Valley and Kaymaklı Underground CityWe journey to and hike in Ihlara Valley. This attractive canyon has been shaped by the Melendiz River over thousands of years. During the walk, we will repeatedly discover the secret churches and houses of Christians who found refuge in the valley. Later, we visit the Kaymaklı underground city, carved up to 10 levels into the rocks, which could shelter up to 10,000 people in emergencies and contains churches, living spaces, food storage rooms, and water reservoirs.
